Summary:

 

Oversee the maintenance of mechanical systems to ensure required tasks are completed ensuring operational effectiveness

 

Ownership:

 

Direct and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs. 

Direct and manage maintenance excellence and reliability initiatives.  

Provide leadership and training to accomplish department and company objectives. 

Certify compliance with all regulatory requirements in the maintenance department.  

Drive continuous improvement projects and processes by recommending measures to improve methods, machine performance and safety standards. 

Drive a culture of high performance and accountability of integrity and safety. 

Assist in planning and execution of all required maintenance repairs and special projects. 

Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries while minimizing overtime.  

Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner. 

Communicate policy and procedures to employees and ensure enforcement is consistent. 

This position has responsibilities related to Food Safety and Quality. 

Uphold and manage team participation in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy and MMAD volunteering opportunities. 

Perform other duties as assigned.  

 

Supervisory:

This position has supervisory responsibilities 

 

Requirements:

All applicants must have either a high school diploma or trade or vocational school diploma; or eight years of maintenance related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a production environment. 

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, see, talk, and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, or kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
