POSITION SUMMARY
- The Plant Engineer is responsible for implementing best practices and ensuring seamless project delivery within his/her assigned site(s). Focus is on successful support of plant operations, identification & implementation of improvement projects, and adherence to codes/standards. While a corporate role this position will have a dotted line reporting relationship with the local Plant Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical leader for the factory.
- Identifies and executes cost savings initiatives.
- Responsible for budgeting and ensuring the execution of site related capital.
- The facility’s Subject Matter Expert for the onsite process, packing, and utilities equipment.
- Develops training plans for Engineering and Maintenance TEAm Members.
- Ensures Maintenance TEAms have access to useful and actionable Preventative Maintenance procedures for maintaining process and packing equipment.
- Supports the development of Milos’s Tea Company cost savings, capacity expansion, and compliance projects from both a technical perspective and through business intelligence & expertise.
- Ensures contractors and vendors are aware of safety and quality related rules and standards when conducting work at the production site. Ongoing verification that these rules and standards are being implemented appropriately.
- Follows safety policy and procedures including, but not limited to, lock out-tag-out, hot work permit and confined space.
- Upholds and demonstrates leadership in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy, and MMAD volunteering opportunities.
- This position has food Safety Responsibilities.
- Other responsibilities, as necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience in engineering within an industrial environment.
- Experience with use of Microsoft Office software.
- Experience in utilizing P&IDs in an industrial environment.
- Capable to work both independently and as part of a larger group.
