Position Summary
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for supervising all shipping employees by implementing policies and recommending improvements for shipping needs.
Ownership
Improve safety processes and behaviors to prevent accidents and injuries.
Plan, schedule and execute operations and establish priorities.
Ensure process controls are established and adhered to for operational consistency.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of HACCP concepts and plant sanitation.
Achieve stated goals for efficiency and direct costs.
Conduct forklift training and certification for all new hires and temporary employees.
Manage employee performance, scheduling, and compliance with policies.
Manage partial pallet program ensuring timely order fulfillment requirements.
Manage yard mule activities and ensure DOT guidelines are followed.
Ensure completion of required pre/post shift paperwork.
Recommend process improvements to Logistics Manager to achieve operational efficiency.
Perform daily cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and X3.
Upholds and manages team participation in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy and MMAD volunteering opportunities.
This position has responsibilities related to Food Safety and Quality
Perform other duties as assigned.
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Degree preferred not required.
Desired experience in a production environment with food or beverage industry.
Applicants must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence, speak effectively before groups and perform basic mathematical calculations
User knowledge of MS Office Suite to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and use of plant specific software systems.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, see, talk and hear.
The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold.
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
All applicants must have the ability to stay at work station for three continuous hours.
