Summary:

The Packing Engineer is a subject matter expert on beverage packing equipment representing the Engineering & Technical Services TEAm as a business partner to the Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Procurement, and Quality Assurance TEAms.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Contributes to the development of Technical Packing Equipment Specifications across the enterprise. 
  • Identifies and executes cost savings initiatives.   
  • Subject Matter Expert on Packing Equipment.   
  • Leverages extensive knowledge of both packaging specifications and packing equipment capabilities to ensure equipment can efficiently and reliably run required products. 
  • Develops and maintains design and operating standards for packing equipment 
  • Develops training plans for Engineering and Maintenance TEAm Members. 
  • Ensures Maintenance TEAms have access to useful and actionable Preventative Maintenance procedures for maintaining packing equipment.   
  • Supports the development of Milos’s Tea Company automation projects from both a technical perspective and through business intelligence & expertise. 
  • Follow safety policy and procedures including, but not limited to, lock out-tag-out, hot work permit and confined space.  
  • Upholds and demonstrates leadership in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy, and MMAD volunteering opportunities.  
  • This position has food Safety Responsibilities.  
  • Other responsibilities, as necessary. 

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of experience in packing engineering and/or project engineering 
  • Experience with industrial controls systems. 
  • Experience with use of Microsoft Office software. 
  • Experience in utilizing P&IDs in an industrial environment. 
  • Capable to work both independently and as part of a larger group. 

Supervisory:

  • ​​ This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.  

 

Physical Demands: ​​ 

  • ​​ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, see, talk, and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, or kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. ​​

  • ​ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
