POSITION

The Logistics Lead will oversee the efficient operation of the shipping and receiving department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of inventory and compliance with company policies. This role involves coordinating process flows, scheduling, training, and mentoring team members, and maintaining high standards in all related activities. The Lead will also be responsible for inventory management, and compliance with GMP/QA standards.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate process flow and scheduling for the shipping and receiving area to ensure efficient operations.
  • Train, mentor, and coach shipping and receiving associates on machinery, operating procedures, and job responsibilities.
  • Ensure all required paperwork is accurately completed for pre and post-shift activities.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all departmental jobs and ensure adherence to GMP/QA standards, sanitation, and procedures.
  • Record and process inventory transactions for raw materials and finished goods, including performing daily material transfers.
  • Rotate delivery of raw materials and products according to FIFO (First In, First Out) system and ensure proper rotation in storage areas.
  • Examine incoming shipments, reject and report any discrepancies to management, and process receipts in Sage X3.
  • Ensure trucks and trailers are loaded accurately per order requests and manage the loading and replenishment of partial pallets.
  • Coordinate the removal of all RMA requests and non-conforming material promptly.
  • Perform weekly cycle counts for raw materials, review variances with the Buyer, and make recommendations or improvements to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor.
  • Notate process irregularities and communicate with team members to correct problems.
  • Uphold and participate in Corporate Responsibility programming, including recycling, social advocacy, and MMAD volunteering opportunities.
  • Be available to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Upholds and demonstrates leadership in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy, and MMAD volunteering opportunities.
  • This position has food Safety Responsibilities.
  • Other responsibilities, as necessary.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position will operate as a working lead. Qualified candidates will need to have great communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office, to excel in this role.  
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Experience: Five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to prepare correspondence effectively.
  • Strong understanding of shipping and receiving operations, including inventory management and process optimization.
  • Proven ability to train and mentor team members.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management systems like Sage X3 and Mobe3.
  • Commitment to adhering to GMP/QA standards and company policies, both technical and soft skills

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, see, talk, and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, or kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met or that an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
