Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and strategic-minded, action-oriented Public Affairs Coordinator to support tactics to strengthen our corporate brand, enhance public trust, and promote our reputation across key stakeholder groups. This position plays a critical role in the tactical implementation of brand-building strategies through corporate, strategic relationship development, and engagement with economic development organizations and legislative leaders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of public affairs, corporate social responsibility, and stakeholder engagement, with a talent for relationship management and strategic communications. This role supports Milo’s People First mission through internal and external community engagement, stakeholder relations, and corporate giving to position Milo’s as a trusted brand for generations.
Must reside within 60 miles of Tulsa, OK.
Responsibilities:
Brand and Reputation Management
Execute corporate brand building initiatives that align with the company’s strategic objectives and enhance corporate reputation.
Support the implementation of communications strategies that highlight the company’s commitment to community investment and positive community impact.
Collaborate internally to ensure consistent brand messaging across public affairs and corporate giving initiatives.
Stakeholder & Legislative Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with economic development and community organizations, and governmental entities.
Support planning and logistics for stakeholder meetings and legislative events.
Monitor public policy developments and assist in preparing briefing materials and correspondence for executives.
Corporate Giving & Community Engagement
Administer Milo’s 1% Profit Pledge in alignment with annual budget by evaluation of incoming corporate giving requests and making recommendations in alignment with Milo’s Corporate Giving Focus Areas.
Coordinate and promote activities related to the company’s corporate giving focus areas.
Uphold and demonstrate leadership in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy, and volunteering opportunities.
Identify and manage opportunities to amplify the visibility of nonprofit partnerships, grants, and community programs.
Develop messaging and content to showcase community impact stories through digital platforms, internal communications, and earned media.
Tactical Support & Program Execution
Manage timelines, deliverables, and project tracking to ensure timely execution of public affairs campaigns and partnership activities.
Coordinate cross-functional teams and external vendors/agencies to support public affairs initiatives.
Assist with event planning, speech writing, media relations, and internal reporting related to public affairs efforts.
This position has food Safety Responsibilities.
Other responsibilities, as necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, Business, or related field.
3+ years of experience in public affairs, government relations, or community engagement.
Proven ability to implement communications tactics and manage stakeholder relationships.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills including public speaking and media engagement preferred.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management abilities.
Experience with legislative or economic development organizations is a strong plus.
Knowledge of CRM, media monitoring, and project management tools is desirable.
