This role requires daily supervision and guidance of Quality Assurance.   Responsibilities: - Conduct inspections and audits across all quality performance phases (raw materials, production, packaging, distribution, Food Safety Plan/ HACCP, GMPs, etc.). - Enforce QA policies, procedures, and directives to meet company, customer, and government expectations, providing necessary feedback and ensuring corrective actions. - Lead the plant's SQF certification program and perform customer and annual SQF audits. - Develop and uphold the Food Safety and HACCP plan, train plant personnel on quality programs. - Communicate with State Dept of Agriculture/ FDA representative regarding inspections and maintain various quality programs (Pest Control, Self-Inspection, Supplier Management, Safety, Microbiological Testing, and Food Defense). - Collaborate with Plant Manager to ensure proper facility maintenance and housekeeping. - This position has supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in an applicable technical field – Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, etc. - 5+ of quality control experience in food manufacturing. - Proficiency in HACCP, SSOP, and SOP - Knowledge of FDA standards - SQF Practitioner and PCQI Certification highly preferred. - Strong knowledge of equipment, analytical tools, and food-processing equipment   Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, see, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
